Further arrests made as detectives continue to dismantle drug supply syndicate in Glebe

Two men have been charged with firearm and drug offences as detectives continue to dismantle a drug supply syndicate in Sydney.

In March 2020, officers from Leichhardt Police Area Command established Strike Force Jude to investigate drug supply in the Glebe area.

Detectives have charged four men and two women with a string of drug supply and prohibited weapon charges as part of their investigations so far.

Following further inquiries, strike force detectives, with assistance from Bass Hill Region Enforcement Squad, executed a search warrant at a home on Bigge Street in Liverpool, about 7am yesterday (Thursday 7 May 2020).

Two male occupants – aged 23 and 39 – were arrested at the scene and taken to Liverpool Police Station.

During a search of the home, police located three firearms, a replica pistol and prohibited drugs believed to be GHB, MDMA, methamphetamine and cannabis. The items will undergo forensic examination.

The younger man was charged with intent to commit indictable offence and being found on a drug premises.

He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear before Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 15 July 2020.

The older man was charged with nine supply prohibited drug offences, deal with property proceeds of crime, organise/conducts/assists drug premises, possess prohibited drug, four counts of possess unauthorised pistol and possess more than three unregistered firearms.

He was refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court today (Friday 8 May 2020).

Investigations under Strike Force Jude continue.
