Further charges after fatal Heckenberg crash 19 September

Further charges have been laid as police continue to investigate a double fatal crash in Sydney’s south-west.

About 9.20pm on Friday 1 September 2023, emergency services were called to Sadleir Avenue, Heckenberg, following reports of a multi-vehicle crash.

A Mercedes and a Toyota Echo reportedly collided head-on, before the Mercedes hit a Toyota Rav4 and flipped on its side.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the driver of the Echo, a 24-year-old woman, and her 15-year-old male passenger; however, they both died at the scene.

The two occupants of the Rav4 were not injured, while the occupants of the Mercedes allegedly left the scene.

Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

During the course of the investigation, four people – three men, aged 20, 21, and 61, and a 22-year-old woman – have been charged and remain before the courts.

Following further investigations, a 20-year-old woman attended Liverpool Police Station yesterday (Monday 18 September 2023), where she was charged with conceal serious indictable offence.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 11 October 2023.

Inquiries continue.
