Further charges laid over sexual assaults in Glebe

A man has been charged over a third alleged sexual assault in Sydney’s Inner West last year.

A public appeal for assistance was made to locate a 29-year-old man, wanted on an arrest warrant after two women reported to police that they’d been sexually assaulted.

On Tuesday 28 July 2020, the man attended Surry Hills Police Station, where he was taken into custody.

Officers from Leichhardt Police Area Command allege the man sexually assaulted two women on separate occasions at a home in Glebe last year after meeting them via a dating application.

The man, from Glebe, was charged with two counts of sexual intercourse without consent. These matters remain before the court.

As inquiries continued, detectives were contacted by a third woman, aged 25, who reported she had also been sexually assaulted.

The incident is alleged to have occurred at a home in Woollahra in November 2017, after meeting through the same dating application.

The 29-year-old man attended Waverley Police Station where he was met by detectives from Leichardt Police Area Command.

He was charged with aggravated sexual assault – deprive liberty, and breach of bail.

He was refused bail and is due to appear in Waverley Local Court today (Thursday 22 October 2020).
