Police have charged a man with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and deprivation of liberty following an incident at a Lakes Creek home on Saturday, June 29.
Police will allege that at around 12pm a man armed with a firearm entered a Hill Street residence and held the male occupant, a 33-year-old man, against his will for a number of hours.
During this time the man was allegedly assaulted including being struck with a metal bar which caused a minor injury to his head.
Shortly before 7.30pm the man managed to flee the house by jumping out of a bathroom window with police alleging a firearm was discharged, which missed him.
He on ran away and contacted police.
The alleged offender fled the house in a car which was intercepted by police at around 11.30pm in Norman Gardens, where he was taken into custody.
A 47-year-old Round Hill man was denied police bail and is due to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court today charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning bodily harm, deprivation of liberty, entering a dwelling with intent, possessing dangerous drugs, armed robbery, threats and two counts of unlawful possession of weapons.
It is believed both men known to each other.
