Spaces are filling fast for dozens of free or low-cost community-hosted workshops, dances, exercise classes and concerts happening at Geelong Seniors Festival this October.
The annual festival, in partnership with the Victorian Government, celebrates positive ageing and offers people 55+ opportunities to have fun with friends, meet new people and try new activities.
With more than 40 events across Greater Geelong on offer, some of the highlights include:
- The Great Geelong Hit Parade with Glenn Starr: Internationally acclaimed performer Glenn Starr set to captivate with golden oldies and timeless hits.
- Coin and Banknote Workshop: Introduction to collecting, including storage and cataloguing.
- Mind Matters: Your Wellbeing Workout: Wellbeing sessions helping older adults thrive, connect with others and be informed.
- Inter-generational Bush Dance: Led by the Billy Tea Bush Band, a dance bringing seniors and families together through music and afternoon tea.
- Silver Serves: Tennis coaching designed to help older adults improve movement, strategy and confidence on court.
- Fused Glass Demonstrations and Workshops: Demonstrations and hands-on workshops teaching the art of glass fusing.
- Seeds of Connection Across Generations: Older adults and children connect through planting, storytelling, music and creative activities.
- Orchestra Geelong Seniors Festival Concert: A free concert of popular orchestral music.
- Bridge – Seniors Festival Teams: A one-day Swiss Teams Bridge event for teams of four.
- Bellarine Quilters 2026 Quilt Show: A showcase of quilts created by Bellarine Quilters members.

This year’s program was supported by $5,682 from the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing and $24,000 in 2026-27 Positive Ageing Grants from the City of Greater Geelong.
