Logan City Council is urging everyone in the community to take care on our roads this holiday season.

This year 268 people have lost their lives on Queensland roads.

Mayor Darren Power urged all road users to obey road rules and put safety first when getting behind the wheel this holiday season.

“Serious road crashes devastate lives and take an enormous toll on families and communities,” Councillor Power said.

“Whether you are a motorist, motorbike rider, cyclist, pedestrian or just riding a scooter, we all have a responsibility to ensure everyone gets home safely this Christmas.

“Wherever you are spending your holidays, please consider the possible impact of your actions when on our roads this festive season.”

Council is committed to working towards a reduction of fatalities, serious crashes and injuries on local roads.

Last year, Council endorsed the Road Safety Strategy for Logan 2022-2026, providing a framework for improving road safety in the city.

Council also delivers the SafeRoads4Logan program in partnership with the Queensland Police Service, the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Queensland Health and RACQ.
