Give your voting ballot papers to VEC

Latrobe City residents are being urged to mail their completed voting ballot papers for the council election to the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC).

Alternatively, deliver the completed papers to the VEC’s Latrobe election office at 2/5 Saskia Way, Morwell.

Latrobe City Council is unable to receive completed voting papers at its Customer Service Centres due to these centres being closed due to the current COVID restrictions.

The election is run by the VEC on behalf of all Victorian councils taking part in the Local Government Elections, not by individual councils.

Council’s Customer Service staff have received enquiries from residents wishing to give them their ballot papers but receiving these papers is not Council’s role.

The election is being conducted by post and voters can return their papers in the replied paid envelopes provided with their voting papers.

Completed voting papers must be in the mail by 6pm, Friday, October 23.

All people aged over 18 must vote in the Local Government Elections or risk a fine.
