Residents have chosen their favourite designs for two new playgrounds at Glenfield Oval and Toney Place.
Wagga Wagga City Council shared multiple concept designs for each playground for the community to choose from. Voting was open for two weeks from Monday 28 September to Monday 12 October.
The favourite design for Glenfield Oval was Option 1, which received 50 per cent of the vote.
Project Supervisor John Conlan said the new design will be vibrant and a lot more inclusive and accessible.
“It will have a finished softfall surface at ground level, with a path around it, making it more accessible than the current playground,” Mr Conlan said.
“When combined with the adjacent oval and basketball court, this playground provides enough options for a longer play experience.
“The overall design encourages social interaction between younger and older users and provides a good range of accessible and inclusive activities such as the nest swing, carousel and numerous activity panels.”
The winning design also features a large tower unit and tube slide which encourages climbing, sliding and imaginative play and utilises the existing shade sails.
For the Toney Place playground residents selected Option 2, which received 40 per cent of the vote.

This design provides interesting and interactive equipment that encourages climbing, balancing and sliding.
The softfall surface will be at ground level, and the triple swing set includes a ridged toddler seat, inclusive nest swing and strap seat for the older children.
“Both of these new playgrounds are a significant improvement on the existing equipment,” Mr Conlan said.
“We appreciate the help of the Glenfield community in selecting these playgrounds.”
Both playgrounds will be completed by early 2027, weather permitting.
