Police have charged a 24-year-old Glenorchy man with drug trafficking as part of ongoing investigations by the Tasmania Joint Organised Crime Task Force (JOCTF) into the distribution of illicit drugs in the state.
Police allege the man was acting as a drug courier, with 1kg of methylamphetamine found inside a garage during the targeted search of a residential property in Glenorchy on August 5.
Officers from Tasmania JOCTF, supported by Southern Drugs and Firearms and the Dog Handlers’ Unit, conducted the search.
The man was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance. He was bailed and is set to reappear in Hobart Magistrates Court in mid-November.
The Tasmania Joint Organised Crime Task Force (Tas JOCTF) comprises members from Tasmania Police, Australian Federal Police (AFP) and Australian Border Force (ABF).
