Global, local, and virtual – Australian start-up takes sustainable leadership to the world

Big business and sustainability rarely go in the same sentence, but a globally connected, Australian start-up is working to change that through a unique leadership course that has innovation and sustainability at its core.

Launched last night at the Together In Action (TiA) Global Summit, the new online program is the brainchild of the Queensland-based Sustainable Innovation Company(SIC).

The specialised course called SPRUNGG is designed to inspire individuals to find purpose and make positive change using the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as the springboard.

For the founder of SIC, Jacqueline Wilson-Smith, the TiA summit was the ideal event to launch SPRUNGG.

“The Together In Action (TiA) Global Summit gathered thought leaders from across the globe, all committed to creating actionable solutions and help solve some of the world’s biggest challenges, which is completely aligned with our objectives for SPRUNGG,” Ms Wilson-Smith said.

“It was a truly inspiring meeting of dedicated individuals from all around the world who want to play a role in building solutions to the biggest problems like poverty, hunger, education, gender equality, climate change and human rights – and that’s what the new SPRUNGG sustainable leadership course is all about. Inspiring and equipping individuals to work towards the UN’s Global Goals by making responsible investments and redesigning the future together.”

SIC’s sustainable leadership program is made up of 8 modules delivered online by a team of 5 international experts.

“I’ve handpicked facilitators from Australia, America, the UK and India to coach and collaborate with individuals and businesses who want to be able to solve problems in a more sustainable, profitable and meaningful way,” Ms Wilson-Smith said

“The course is self-paced, 100% online, and each module harnesses the basic principle that solutions for the world’s biggest challenges start with one person willing to lead and take others with them.

“By the end of the course, participants will be able to align their chosen Global Goals with their purpose, skills and expertise, collaborate effectively using a range of tools, and connect to a global movement and influence change.

“No matter where you come from, who you are, or what you do, everyone has a role to play in creating actionable solutions to help solve for some of the worlds biggest challenges. And this course is designed to help people and organisations do just that. “

Enrolments are now open for “Together in Action Learning powered by SPRUNGG”. The recommended course fee is $125AUD, but to demonstrate SIC’s commitment to addressing the UN’s Global Goals (in particular, #4: Quality Education and #10: Reduced Inequalities) they are offering learners a pay-what-you-can alternative.
