Government providing services where they’re needed most

Services Australia is adapting to changing customer needs in Adelaide.

From 23 March 2020, services from Adelaide myGov in Grenfell Street will move to the nearby Norwood Service Centre and Torrensville Service Centre. The last day of trade at Adelaide myGov will be Friday 20 March 2020.

The Adelaide myGov site only provides a digital service where customers can use Services Australia and Australian Taxation Office online platforms to complete their government business.

Services Australia General Manager Hank Jongen said the move shows an ability to adapt to customer needs and provide resources where they’re most effective.

‘The number of people requiring this service has steadily declined over the past four years as people choose different ways to access government services,’ Mr Jongen said.

‘People are confident using myGov and the Centrelink and Medicare apps in the comfort of their own home, so they no longer require this digital service.

‘Relocating the services to the nearby Norwood and Torrensville Service Centres means we can provide better service where people need us most.’

People can access a wider range of services and face-to-face support at the Norwood Service Centre and Torrensville Service Centre.

Both service centres are open from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Parking is available and both sites are well serviced by public transport.

The Australian Taxation Office services currently offered at Adelaide myGov will continue to be provided from the Torrensville Service Centre.
