Have you got a project, event or activity that you think will contribute to community wellbeing, increased visitation and economic development for Murrindindi Shire – particularly one that helps with recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic? Well, applications are now open for Murrindindi Shire Council’s ‘Grants and Contributions Program’!

The Program helps communities and businesses access funds to support projects and events that align with the goals we set in the 2017 – 2021 Council Plan. This year in particular, we are interested in supporting projects and initiatives that will help the community, business and industry bounce back from what has been a difficult time for many.

Council’s Major Leigh Dunscombe said the Program has nine different streams of financial and in-kind support available to not-for-profit community groups, businesses and event organisers.

‘We have a great range of grants available, from quick response grants to business and innovation grants to community sponsorships and events grants. Each of these grants is open for applications from 1 July 2020 to 30 November 2020, with a second round opening from 1 February 2021 to 30 June 2021.

‘All grant applications will be assessed and awarded each month, including applications for

  • Fee Reductions

  • Quick Response Grants

  • Community Sponsorships

  • Community Projects and Events

  • Events – Small or New Tourism Events

  • Events – Events of State Significance

  • Governance, Skills and Capacity Building

  • Business and Innovation Grants
