Grants available for 2021 NSW Seniors Festival

Eligible organisations can apply for funding to help seniors stay connected, active and social in their local communities.

The NSW Seniors Festival Grants program will provide $200,000 to local councils, small businesses and not-for-profit organisations to run local activities and programs during the NSW Seniors Festival from 13 to 21 April 2021.

Funding categories

Three funding categories are available to distribute $200,000 across the

state.

  • Category 1: Up to $1000 for small-scale local community programs and activities.
  • Category 2: $1001 to $5000 for larger local community programs and activities.
  • Category 3: $5001 – $10,000 for large scale community and regional programs and activities.

Programs and activities include art, sport, music, technology, recreation and health. The festival will also focus on accessibility, with organisers encouraged to add an online option.

Acting Minister for Seniors Geoff Lee said this last year has been really tough on NSW seniors and staying connected, active and social are pivotal to seniors’ wellbeing while remaining COVID Safe.

“The NSW Seniors Festival recognises the importance of seniors to the community and provides initiatives that keep the mind and body healthy while combatting social isolation,” Mr Lee said.

Applications will close at 11:59pm on Thursday 4 February 2021.
