Grants awarded in October: Campaspe Shire

Campaspe Shire Council is delighted to announce the successful recipients of Grants programs for the month of October. These grants aim to support and empower local community organisations and groups in their valuable work to enhance the quality of life for residents throughout our region.

Council’s grants programs provide financial assistance to a diverse range of projects and initiatives that contribute to the social, cultural, environmental, and economic development of the Campaspe community. Council received numerous applications for funding, each displaying the passion and dedication of local groups and individuals towards improving our vibrant community.

The grants that were awarded in October include:

Community Event Sponsorship

Council provided approximately $6,000 of financial support for upcoming community events across the shire, including:

  • Girgarre Development Group Inc. to assist with hosting the Girgarre Moosic Muster on 10 – 14 January.
  • Kyabram Minsiters Fellowship Inc. to go towards hosting the Kyabram Churches Community Carols on 14 December.

Responsive Grants Program

Council provided approximately $500 of financial support for community initiatives within the shire, including:

  • Echuca Moama District Australian Plant Society Inc. to be used for printing native and indigenous plant brochures.

Community Equipment Grants Program

Council funded approximately $16,000 of community equipment grants to provide financial assistance to community groups and sporting clubs. The funds were distributed to:

  • Colbinabbin Cemetery Trust to purchase grounds maintenance tools that help reduce bush fire risk.
  • Echuca Moama Little Athletics to invest in a line marker for volunteers to use each week during competitions.
  • Kyabram VIC SES Unit to purchase a portable defibrillator and cabinet that can be used for call outs as required.
  • Goulburn Murray Cricket Inc. to invest in coaching and playing equipment for junior Country Week cricket teams.
  • Goulburn Valley Auto Club Inc. to purchase a defibrillator for use at race meets held at Rushworth Speedway.
  • Moora Racecourse Recreation Reserve to purchase and install a gas hot water unit in the kitchen.
  • Lockington Bowls Club Inc to replace the freestanding barbecue griddle with a BeefMaster Barbecue Griddle.
  • Rochester Golf Club Inc. to replace batteries for the Club Cart that were damaged by flood water.
  • Echuca Moama Triathlon Club Inc. to purchase shelving for equipment storage as well as safety equipment to be used at training and events.
  • Echuca Cricket Club to invest in equipment for the new under 11’s cricket program.

Campaspe Shire Council would like to express its gratitude to all the organisations and groups that submitted grant applications. The level of community engagement and participation highlights the strong commitment towards creating a vibrant and inclusive community for all residents.
