The City of Casey has a range of grants and assistance available to community groups, organisations and individuals.
Applications for the 2024/25 Community Grants Program and the 2024/27 Community Service Organisation Funding Program open at 9.00 am on Monday 18 March and close at 5.00 pm on Friday 26 April.
City of Casey Chair of Administrators Noelene Duff PSM said not-for-profit community groups and organisations who provide services and programs for the Casey community are encouraged to apply for a community grant.
“Financial assistance of up to $5,000 is available to help provide projects, programs and events that benefit the local community,” she said.
“Community service organisations who provide programs and services for the Casey community in the areas of health, wellbeing and safety can also apply for funding of up to $40,000 for three years.”
Past recipients who have received funding include:
- Narre Warren Christian Church – $5,000 for its Transit Soup Kitchen and Food Support program.
- Blind Sports and Recreation Victoria – $5,000 for its forest therapy walks, co-guided by low-vision volunteers in Casey.
- Casey Malayalee – $5,000 for its 2023 Casey Onam event.
- Berwick Toy Library – $5,000 for its Steps to STEM program.
- Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency Co-operative – $39,000 over three years to help provide assistance and culturally appropriate services for Aboriginal residents experiencing family violence.
- South East Community Links – $105,000 over three years to help provide health and wellbeing programs for CALD youth and newly arrived families at Hampton Park Secondary College and Language School.
- Doveton Neighbourhood Learning Centre – $46,724 over three years to engage the services of a worker to help residents experiencing disadvantage and isolation.
To assist community groups, organisations and community service organisations with the application process, free information sessions will be held online and in person. The sessions will provide advice on understanding the grant program guidelines, how to apply using the online system and tips on submitting a great application.
