Grants for small business and community organisations

Small businesses and community organisations and groups in Campbelltown affected by the COVID-19 health situation can now access grants of up to $2000 as part of the Council Campbelltown Cares initiative to support the local economy and vulnerable people in the LGA.

The Campbelltown Cares Grants include Small Business Support Grants available to micro businesses, sole traders and small businesses in the LGA with an annual turnover of less than $5 million to support their resilience and survival.

Some examples of business initiatives eligible for a Campbelltown Small Business Support Grant include:

  • Development of a business website to improve digital marketing,
  • Expansion of the business into deliveries or online shopping, and
  • Business planning or improvement courses.

The Campbelltown Cares Communities Grant is open to community groups and not-for-profit organisations who are responding to an emerging or exacerbated social need within the community as a result of the COVID-19 health situation.

Examples of some of the types of programs eligible for Campbelltown Cares Community Grants include:

  • Maintaining food security for vulnerable people
  • Supporting people experiencing homelessness
  • Supporting people effected by Domestic Violence

Mayor George Brticevic encouraged businesses developing their response to the COVID-19 health situation to apply for the grants.

“The challenges being faced by our local small businesses are unprecedented and we are doing whatever we can to support them,” Cr Brticevic said.

“Rate and fee support, free online business training programs as well as promotional and physical resourcing support through initiatives such as our Ranger Roo program, are just some of the other ways we are providing assistance,” he said.

Cr Brticevic said the Campbelltown Cares Community Grants would support community organisations who are providing important social services to residents.

“Our community organisations and-not-for profit groups are doing great work supporting the vulnerable in our community,” he said.

“COVID-19 has exacerbated many of the challenges these organisations deal with while also presenting new social challenges. These grants will help support much of the wonderful work being done by these important organisations.”
