Grants rounds support Territory’s creative industry

NT Government

The Territory Labor Government has put $400,000 on the table to grow the creative and cultural economy; encourage artistic excellence and achievement; and enable community participation in arts and culture.

Applications for the first two grant rounds of the 2020-21 NT Arts and Culture Grants Program are now open.

The Arts and Culture COVID-19 Recovery Program allows for individual grants of up to $10,000 for the creation of digital content, audience engagement and digital skills development from a funding pool of $200,000.

Funding on offer through this program responds to feedback from the arts and culture sector that highlights the importance of increasing digital capability to alleviate impacts of COVID-19.

The program also recognises the value of supporting innovative arts practice and enhancing audience engagement with arts and cultural activities.

The Arts Projects Program grants, worth $200,000, supports professional development and promotes work by NT artists and arts organisations. They also aim to increase skills and community participation in arts and culture, and the employment of artists and art workers.

Emerging artists can apply for grants of up to $15,000 while individual artists, arts workers, groups and not-for-profit organisations can apply for grants of up to $20,000 for:

– projects that present, exhibit, distribute or promote NT arts practice;

– research, development or creation of new art works;

– skills development; and

– emerging artists and arts worker development of skills, knowledge and experience.

Grant applications for the Arts and Culture COVID-19 Recovery Program are open until 2pm, 19 October 2020 and until 2pm, 26 October 2020 for the Arts Projects Program. Funding applications can be made through the Grants NT website.
