Greencare Works Approval granted

Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) has granted a Works Approval to a Prescribed Industrial Waste (PIW) management facility in Campbellfield.

Greencare Environmental Solutions Pty Ltd applied for an EPA Works Approval and an EPA operating licence for the sorting and consolidation facility at 59 Merri Concourse, Campbellfield.

The main activity proposed for the site is small-scale sorting and consolidation of specialised, low volume PIW, which would be collected from industrial and educational facilities, before being sent off-site either for reuse or to EPA licensed facility for safe disposal.

The Works Approval includes EPA requirements for containment measures for any runoff, controls on the processes and types of containers used, the disposal of any waste, and an Environmental Management Plan for strict operation of the PIW consolidation process.

In assessing the Works Approval application, EPA considers any potential effects on climate change, groundwater, surface water, soil, noise, odour, air quality, waste and any potential hazards to people’s health.

EPA did not receive any submissions about this Works Approval. To read EPA’s full decision, go to https://engage.vic.gov.au/epa-works-approvals/greencare
