Half price discount incentive providing tourism operator boost

  • New incentive offering out-of-state visitors 50 per cent off WA tours and experiences
  • $500,000 initiative will inject $1 million into WA tourism businesses, boosting local jobs
  • Supported by the McGowan Government, through Tourism WA
  • A new 50 per cent off tours and experiences discount offer, Half Off, Full Adventures, is encouraging out-of-State visitors to enjoy a Western Australian tourism experience and support local operators.

Supported by the McGowan Government through Tourism WA, the $500,000 campaign will see more than $1 million injected directly into WA tour and experience companies, while also helping to promote the incredible activities on offer all around the State.

The campaign will provide discounts on more than 300 tours and attractions.

Some of the attractions include whale shark getaways, Aboriginal cultural tours, kite surfing in Karratha, camel rides in Broome, skydiving in Jurien Bay, boat cruises on Lake Argyle and wineries in Margaret River.

Visiting friends and family are expected to form a large proportion of our first interstate and international arrivals into WA, with the incentive geared to encourage these visitors to travel further and experience more while here.

Out-of-state visitors will be able to register for the discount online through the WA Visitor Centre and will then receive a discount code for redeeming online, by phone or in person at WA Visitor Centre. The tour or experiences are available until July 15, 2022.

The incentive is funded through the State Government’s $195 million Reconnect WA package.

As stated by Tourism Minister Roger Cook:

“We’re proud to launch the Half Off, Full Adventures, 50 per cent off tours and experiences incentive for out-of-State visitors, with the WA Visitor Centre discount on bookings fully subsidised by the State Government.

“This targeted initiative will help boost WA tourism businesses and encourage those who may be visiting family and friends to get out and enjoy a local tour or experience.

“Whether it is swimming with wild dolphins in Rockingham, cruising Lake Argyle in the Kimberley, going on a bush tucker tour in Margaret River or soaring over Cape Le Grande National Park near Esperance, there are scores of activities on offer at a discounted price all over the State.

“Our tourism strategy through Reconnect WA is gathering momentum quickly, with more announcements still to come.”
