Hand sanitiser production to start in Shoalhaven

NSW Government

The Bomaderry factory in Shoalhaven will be modified to manufacture hand sanitiser to help protect communities against COVID-19.

The Bomaderry factory modification is the latest project fast-tracked under the NSW Government’s Planning System Acceleration Program.

Funding from the program will:

  • inject $7.8 million into the local economy
  • create 24 new jobs
  • produce 120 megalitres of hand sanitiser grade ethanol
  • produce 1.5 megalitres of hand sanitiser.

The increased production of hand sanitiser will help support NSW meet high demand.

Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Rob Stokes said the Planning System Acceleration Program is a key part of the government’s COVID-19 Recovery Plan.

“The planning system is continuing to get projects out the door to keep people in jobs and the economy moving,” Mr Stokes said.

Local communities and businesses are reminded to practice good hygiene and stay safe during COVID-19.
