With an expanded field of play and upgraded amenities, the sports complex at Hanging Rock is providing individuals, groups and local clubs a modern facility for recreation and competition.
Eurobodalla Mayor Mathew Hatcher says field three boasts a multi-sport playing surface that accommodates AFL, cricket and athletics.
“We’ve also improved irrigation, added LED lighting, increased spectator seating, and built four new unisex changerooms with amenities, and a storage shed,” says the Mayor.
“For local clubs, it means better facilities to train and compete at, and for family and friends looking on from the sidelines it’s functional and comfortable. This is infrastructure that will be used week in, week out, and will support the Bay area for years to come.”
The $2.58 million project was supported by $2.387 million from the NSW Government’s Office of Sport through the Multi-Sport Community Facility Fund, with Council contributing the balance.
“We’re grateful for that support – this was a much-needed upgrade that really benefits the community,” Mayor Hatcher says.
