Have a say on name of reserve in Medowie

NSW Geographical Names Board

The Geographical Names Board is calling for community feedback on a proposal by Port Stephens Council to name a reserve after the iconic Bower bird.

Chair of the Geographical Names Board Narelle Underwood said feedback is being sought on the proposal to name the site located north of Topaz Avenue in Medowie as Bower Reserve.

Port Stephens Council believes the name will raise conservation awareness for the Australian Satin Bower Bird which is known to frequent the area.

Mrs Underwood said the board is encouraging community
