The Geographical Names Board (GNB) is seeking community feedback on a proposal by Blacktown City Council to name a reserve in the suburb of Marsden Park as Dyanmila Park. The reserve is located on the corner of Elara Boulevard and Northbourne Drive, Marsden Park, Blacktown Local Government Area. Dyanmila Park was the most popular option from council’s community consultation on naming the new park. It is a local Dharug word meaning ‘play’. The GNB is seeking feedback to gauge community sentiment for the proposed name. Suggestions for alternative names are not being sought at this time. Details of the proposal can be viewed, and submissions lodged on the GNB website.
