Hawkesbury City Council has identified key projects that will benefit from the $2.9 million in capital raised from the first year of the Special Rate Variation – embarking on a roads-focused improvement program for the benefit of the whole Hawkesbury.
The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) recently approved Council’s application to raise rates by 8.66% per year for the next four years on the proviso that it be spent exclusively on infrastructure improvements, with a focus on roads projects.
All roads and paths under this funding stream will now be branded as Hawkesbury Roads Revival projects, with on-site signage, providing residents with a clear and transparent way to identify the projects. The community has made it clear over recent years that its number one priority by a large margin is the upkeep and repair of our City’s roads.
