Hazard reduction burn at Wyee

NSW Rural Fire Service will be carrying out a hazard reduction burn on Delta Electricity land near Ruttleys Road and Government Road at Wyee on Friday 25 November from 9am-5pm, weather permitting.

Residents near the burn should:

• Keep doors and windows closed to prevent smoke from entering homes and keep outdoors furniture under cover to prevent ember burns.
• Ensure pets have a protected area, retract pool covers to prevent ember damage and remove washing from clotheslines.
• If you are driving a vehicle, slow down, keep windows up and turn headlights on.
• If you have asthma or a lung condition, reduce outdoor activities. If smoke levels are high and if shortness of breath or coughing develops, take your reliever medicine or seek medical advice.

If weather conditions become unfavourable, the burn will be rescheduled.
