Heavy vehicle intercept at Hemmant, QLD

A routine traffic intercept by officers from the Road Policing Task Force has stopped a semi-trailer in its tracks.

Police intercepted the unregistered prime mover on Lytton Road at Hemmant on Wednesday and discovered the semi-trailer attached to also be unregistered.

An inspection of the vehicle was carried out including a download of the truck’s computer with officers finding the driver’s side seat belt not operable and passenger side seat belt not attached.

As a result, the vehicle was taken to a Department of Transport and Main Roads Inspection Centre where it failed an inspection.

The truck and trailer were taken off the road until all defects are repaired and reinspected by authorities.

A 45-year-old Jindalee man has been issued with a Traffic Infringement Notice for use of unregistered short combination prime mover with three or more axles.
