Detectives from the Echo Taskforce have today charged three patched members of the Hells Angels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) following an alleged assault at a Reservoir address over the weekend.
The operation also involved detectives from the Illicit Firearms Squad, Armed Crime Squad, Southern Metro Region and AFP’s National Anti-Gangs Squad.
Police carried out searches this morning at six residential addresses in Reservoir (3), Ferntree Gully, Attwood and St Kilda and one clubhouse address in Seaford.
A 41-year-old Reservoir man, who is a chapter president of the Hells Angels, was charged with intentionally cause serious injury, recklessly cause serious injury, assault, assault with a weapon, extortion, possess schedule 4 poison and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.
A 30-year-old Ferntree Gully man, who is a president of the Hells Angels, was charged with intentionally cause serious injury, recklessly cause serious injury, assault, extortion and assault with a weapon.
A 24-year-old Attwood man, who is a sergeant at arms of the Hells Angels, was charged with intentionally cause serious injury, recklessly cause serious injury, assault, extortion and assault with a weapon.
The trio will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this afternoon for a remand application.
Police subsequently seized a number of items at each address, including a range of weapons.
The charges follow an alleged incident where a male in his 20s was assaulted at an address on Maclagan Crescent in Reservoir on Sunday, 6 February.
He received serious upper body injuries but was able to escape from the property.
