It’s the last chance for regional communities to apply for the Marshall Liberal Government’s latest round of the Regional Growth Fund with applications closing on Friday.
The $150 million Regional Growth Fund aims to unlock new economic opportunities to build and strengthen communities across regional South Australia.
As part of the latest 2019-20 competitive round of the fund, $5 million is available with this round of applications closing at 5pm, Friday 9 August.
Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development Tim Whetstone said the fund was an important initiative to help recharge South Australia’s regions.
“From the Eyre Peninsula to the South East, sweeping up to the Far North and down south to Kangaroo Island, we want all regions to apply for funding to build their local communities,” said Minister Whetstone.
“Ideas for successful projects could include new capital works, infrastructure, facilities and similar investments.
“We are looking for projects that foster collaboration, growth or tangible change for a region and will result in wider benefits for the community and industry.”
Applicants can seek grants from $50,000 up to $2 million, with projects to be located within South Australia with outcomes and benefits for regional South Australia.
Local government bodies, incorporated associations and business clusters can apply for the fund.
Successful projects from Round One included irrigation upgrades for apple and pear growers in the Adelaide Hills, a purpose-built healthcare clinic for Innamincka in the Far North and creating new economic opportunities for Ngarrindjeri people through commercial pipi fishing in the Coorong.
