Hensley Athletic Field Upgrade: Bayside

Bayside Council has accepted a tender for the replacement of the synthetic soccer field at Hensley Athletic Field in Eastgardens.

“This is a vibrant community sports hub and is in high demand year-round for soccer games and training,” Mayor Joe Awada said.

During the summer period Randwick-Botany Little Athletics is the main user of the athletic track situated on the outside of the synthetic soccer field.

The Hensley Reserve Athletic Soccer Field is tenanted during the football season by two semi-professional Football Clubs; Hakoah Sydney City East Football Club and Dunbar Rovers Football Club.

The Hensley Field soccer surface was converted from natural grass to a synthetic grass in 2010.

The current synthetic surface system is significantly worn and requires replacement with a FIFA approved synthetic surface system to achieve FIFA certification.

Council accepted the tender from Turf One Pty Ltd

At this stage it is expected the project will be completed in the first half of 2022
