Police from Gisborne intercepted a high range drink driver in Gisborne this afternoon.
Local units were patrolling Robertson Street when they noticed a black Mitsubishi ute turn out of a fast food restaurant car park against a no exit sign.
Police intercepted the vehicle and spoke to the driver, who was from Woodend.
He underwent a preliminary breath test and was required to attend a station for an evidentiary test.
His alleged result was 0.224%.
His licence was immediately suspended and was interviewed for driving an unregistered vehicle and other traffic offences.
He is expected to be summonsed at a later date.
