High-range drink driving charge after crash at Orange, NSW

A man has been charged with high-range drink driving after a crash in the state’s Central West last week.

About 11.30pm on Friday (20 March 2020), a man driving a white Mitsubishi Triton approached the intersection of Summer and Peisly streets in Orange, where it is alleged he briefly stopped at the red light before colliding with another vehicle.

Officers from Central West Police District attended and both drivers were subjected to a roadside breath test.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 30-year-old man, returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Orange Police Station where a subsequent breath analysis allegedly returned a reading of 0.203.

The man was charged with high-range PCA and is due to appear at Orange Local Court on Monday 15 June 2020.

He was also issued a traffic infringement notice for proceed through red traffic light and a licence suspension notice.
