A 58-year-old woman has been charged with drink-driving and failing to remain at the scene of a crash after an incident at West Ulverstone on Friday night.
Police were called to Alice Street, West Ulverstone, about 10pm after a member of the public heard a loud bang outside their residence.
The resident observed the female driver of a white hatchback had crashed into an unoccupied vehicle and was attempting to leave the scene.
The witness was able to record the woman’s vehicle and registration via video on a mobile phone. This evidence was used by police to locate the woman shortly after.
The Ulverstone woman returned a breath analysis reading of 0.206 at Ulverstone Police Station. She was arrested and bailed to appear in court at a later date.

In another alleged drink-driving incident on Friday night, police intercepted a 64-year-old man on Alexandra Road, Port Sorell, about 6pm.
The man undertook a breath test at Latrobe Police Station and returned a breath analysis reading of 0.260 – more than five times the legal limit.
The man has been bailed to appear at a later date.
Police remind motorists of the high risks of driving while under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
“Alcohol affects judgment, reaction time and decision-making, significantly increasing the likelihood of a serious crash,” Inspector Steve Jones said.
“If you’re drinking, plan a safe way home. Use a designated driver, taxi, rideshare or public transport. There is never an excuse to get behind the wheel while under the influence.”
