High School students to explore career options in health

High school students from across Darwin and Palmerston are expected at today’s interactive ‘Health Careers to Try’ Day at Royal Darwin Hospital to experience what it is like to work in the health sector.

This annual event provides Year 10-12 students with practical insight into a range of health occupations, including mental health, allied health, medicine, and nursing and midwifery.

Jaya Thomas, Director, Clinical Learning, Education and Research Service at RDH said the event aims to showcase the diverse careers and entry pathways that health has on offer.

“Today we aim to inspire students to consider a career in health through a day of interactive and informative learning and fun. We hope students leave the day full of ideas and direction for their future.

“We are expecting over 100 students from nine schools across the Darwin and Palmerston region to take part as well as Katherine for the first time.”
