Homicide charges at Toowoomba

Toowoomba Detectives have charged two men following investigations into the death of a 53-year-old man at a North Toowoomba address on December 23.

Police will allege they had responded to calls for a welfare check at 11.30am on December 24 when they located the 53-year-old man deceased at a Ruthven Street address.

A 29-year-old North Toowoomba man and a 32-year-old Oakey man have since been charged with murder.

Both men were originally charged with grievous bodily harm and have since had their charges upgraded following a post mortem examination.

The pair are due to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court tomorrow (December 28).
