Detectives from the Homicide Squad are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Kew on 23 January.
Emergency services were called to a residence on A’Beckett Street where a man was found with injuries about 10am.
The man, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
A 56-year-old Kew man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries where he remains under police guard.
Police believe the parties involved were known to each other.
The investigation remains ongoing.
