2020 Toyota Golden Guitar Awards hosts

With the Toyota Golden Guitar Awards just over a week away, organisers today announced that country music’s night of nights will be co-hosted by three of the industry’s most exciting young female artists – Caitlyn Shadbolt, Melanie Dyer, and Sinead Burgess. Together they bring years of experience along with incredible energy and talent, and fans can be assured of a huge night celebrating Australian country music.

Also announced today is the first round of performers who will take the stage at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre on Saturday 25th January. They include superstar Lee Kernaghan who was announced last week as the winner of the 2020 Golden Guitar Award for Top Selling Australian Album of the Year, taking his career tally to 38 Golden Guitars and equalling the record set by the great Slim Dusty.

Other performers will include eight-time finalist Felicity Urquhart; four-time Golden Guitar Award winners, The Wolfe Brothers; five-time Golden Guitar winner Gina Jeffreys; first-time performers, Busby Marou, along with 2019 Toyota Star Maker Blake O’Connor making his Golden Guitar Awards debut. The night will also feature a special performance by legendary INXS founder and songwriter, Andrew Farriss, performing a new song from his highly anticipated debut country album with more performers and presenters to be announced.

Chairman of the CMAA, Dan Biddle, says the awards are the pinnacle event in the country music industry. “We are proud of the strength of our industry, and the awards are a time that we can come together to celebrate its success and congratulate those who make it what it is. The quality of the hosts and performers taking the stage for the 48th Awards is a testament to the quality of work we are producing, and we are so excited to kick off what will no doubt be another great year of country music in Australia.”

Toyota Golden Guitar Awards Executive Producer Peter Ross said, “There’s no better way to spend your Saturday night at the Toyota Country Music Festival than in the company of some of Australia’s most talented artists. We encourage anyone and everyone to grab a ticket, come along and enjoy the show – it’s going to be a great one!”

The Toyota Golden Guitar Awards are the nation’s longest-running awards and play a vital role in the development and promotion of Australian country music talent and are the pinnacle event of the annual Toyota Country Music Festival, Tamworth.
