House damaged by fire in East Albury

Police are investigating a suspicious house fire in the state’s Murray River region yesterday.

Emergency services were called to a home on Alexander Street, East Albury, about 3pm (Thursday 27 October 2022), following reports of a house on fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze; however, the home was extensively damaged.

The home was unoccupied at the time and there were no reports of injury.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the cause of the fire, which is being treated as suspicious.
