Cessnock City Council is giving away a Hunter Valley ‘staycation’, launching a competition as part of its ‘Support Local’ campaign, and giving entrants the chance win a luxurious two-night stay in the Hunter Valley valued at $500.

This month’s campaign focuses on the abundance of accommodation available across the Cessnock LGA, and celebrating the rich tourism sector within the region.

Cessnock City Mayor Jay Suvaal is encouraging the community to get behind this month’s ‘Support Local’ campaign, and help to raise awareness of the exceptional accommodation businesses within the region.

“I’m proud to say that the Cessnock LGA is home to world-class vineyards, picturesque landscapes, and an abundance of premium holiday accommodation options, be it for a longer holiday or the perfect weekend escape,” Clr Suvaal said.

“This competition is a great opportunity for residents to support their local businesses by sharing their personal favourite accommodation destinations, and spreading the good word.”

Entrants are asked to share a photo of a place they would like to stay in the Hunter Valley, post it to Facebook, tag the business, hashtag #supportlocalcessnock, and include why they would love to stay at their nominated accommodation in the caption of 25 words or less.

One (1 in total) lucky winner will be selected randomly, their post will be reposted to Advance Cessnock City’s Facebook page, and they will receive one $500 Bookeasy credit which can be used to book a two-night staycation via the Hunter Valley Visitor Centre.

The competition is live as of the 1st January 2024, and the promotion will run until the 28th February 2024. The winner will be announced during the first week in March on the Advance Greater Cessnock social media channels.
