IDAHOBIT 2023 – Together always: united in diversity

Wednesday 17 May this year marks the 18th anniversary of the first International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersex Discrimination and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). In that time, the name of the day has evolved and is now known as the Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination.

The theme of this year’s event is ‘Together always: united in diversity’, inviting people from across Boroondara to come together in solidarity with our LGBTQIA+ friends, family and the wider community.

Showing support

Here in the City of Boroondara, the Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination (IDAHOBIT) is an important opportunity to celebrate LGBTQIA+ communities and raise awareness for the work still needed to combat discrimination.

Recognising this, the rainbow pride flag will be flown outside the Camberwell Civic Centre and Kew Library on Wednesday 17 May. It demonstrates our commitment to creating a community that embraces inclusiveness and equality for all groups, regardless of their sexuality and gender.
