Immigration rorts continue: Bernardi

Australian Conservatives Release

Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi says the Morrison government’s announcement this week that it will cap the number of permanent migrants accepted into Australia each year at 160,000 is only a baby-step in the right direction.

The Conservative Party has long called for a halving of Australia’s immigration rate along with a radical reform of all of the visa, immigration and welfare rorts that allow hundreds of thousands more people into the country every year, initially on visas for education and employment.

Senator Bernardi has told Paul Murray Live on Sky News he is increasingly concerned that the government doesn’t plan to do anything to fix the problem of the masses of people coming here outside of the permanent migration programme.
