Minister for Education James Merlino today visited the school to officially open its new multipurpose building, which includes a competition-grade gymnasium featuring four basketball courts, impressive new performing arts spaces and administration wing.

The new facilities will also be enjoyed by the wider hills community. This includes the Sherbrooke Amateur Basketball Association using the four court gym and the creation of a new home at the Dandenong Ranges Music Council.

The Labor Government has invested $26.8 million to modernise and upgrade Upwey High School since 2016.

It has invested $6.1 billion to deliver more than 1,400 school upgrades, supporting more than 7,500 construction jobs, and committed to opening 100 new schools by 2026 to ensure all families have access to a great local school.
