The Australian Government is investing more than $1.7 million to improve bushland and wildlife areas within Samson Park, Fremantle’s largest natural park.
The funding will support important drainage upgrades to:
- reduce impacts from seasonal flooding
- help keep the park healthy for the future.
The project will be delivered by the City of Fremantle, and will include:
- building safe and accessible paths to make it easier for the community to access Samson Park
- creating a seasonal wetland to manage drainage
- upgrading and realigning stormwater drains
- planting more native plants.
The project is funded through the Australian Government’s Local Environmental Projects Program. The program supports community projects that protect and improve Australia’s natural environment and heritage.
