City of Darwin will undertake several projects including creating an online ‘Accessible Darwin Platform’, featuring information on Darwin’s accessible services, digital assets sharing Larrakia culture and installation of artwork to public restrooms along the Nightcliff foreshore.

This is the second round of the Tourism Town Asset Program which aims to deliver benefits to the Territory’s regions and improve our destinations for visitors.

Quotes from Minister for Tourism and Hospitality Nicole Manison:

“We want to make the visitor experience to the Territory as memorable as possible, and we want all visitors to tell their family and friends back home just how great the NT is.

Providing a funding injection to councils will enable regional and town councils to prioritise and upgrade thoroughfares and central public facilities to become welcoming spaces for visitors.

When local and regional councils partner with the government to support our vibrant tourism industry, it means local, well paying jobs Territory wide.”
