Detectives from the Mt Isa Child Protection Investigation Unit have charged a man yesterday with 18 offences in relation to the alleged indecent treatment of a child.
Police will allege the charges relate to offences against a nine-year-old girl between October 2021 and March 2022.
A 43-year-old man has been charged with seven counts of rape, five counts of making child exploitation material, two counts of indecent treatment of a child and one count each of grooming a child, possessing child exploitation material, possessing dangerous drugs and common assault.
He has been refused bail and is due to appear in Mount Isa Magistrates Court today.
