Media release | Tuesday 23 April, 2024

South Australian rail workers will suspend their current overtime ban on ANZAC Day (Thursday, 25 April) out of respect for veterans and their families.

Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU) SA/NT Secretary Darren Phillips today said rail workers wanted to ensure all South Australians could attend ANZAC Day ceremonies and participate in other ANZAC Day events.

“The overtime ban will be lifted for ANZAC Day, so there will be no impact on services from our current industrial dispute with Keolis Downer Adelaide (KDA).

“Rail workers are all members of the South Australian community, and they are proud of the role that rail services play in South Australian life.

“We encourage all South Australians to make the most of ANZAC Day, and to remember the bravery and sacrifice of the men and women who have served our country.”
