An industry briefing on the METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line will be held on December 11, allowing local businesses to hear about the project and find out more on the procurement process.
Attendees will hear important information about the scope of works, expectations and requirements, contract packages and future METRONET work, while also having the opportunity to informally network with other companies in attendance.
The Morley-Ellenbrook Line will add 21 kilometres of track from Bayswater Station to the Ellenbrook town centre with stations at Whiteman Park, Malaga, Noranda and Morley. Construction will start later this year with upgrades to Bayswater Station.
The industry briefing will also provide updates on other METRONET projects including the Thornlie-Cockburn Link, Yanchep Rail Extension and the Level Crossing Removal project.
NEWest Alliance was recently announced as the preferred proponent to deliver the Yanchep Rail Extension and Thornlie-Cockburn Link under an alliance contract and is expected to create 3,000 jobs over the life of the projects.
As with all Government contracts under the WA Jobs Act, tenderers will be required to produce a local participation plan to show how much local content will be used and how many local workers will be employed.
Next year alone, the McGowan Government will have six METRONET projects underway at once – it is an unprecedented level of rail related construction that our State has never seen before.
