Information sought – Cable Beach sexual assault

Sex Assault Squad and Broome Detectives continue to appeal for information and vision in relation to the sexual assault of a woman at a ‘bush doof’ in Cable Beach on Sunday, 29 May 2022.

Investigators have spoken to a number of people that attended the event and have been reviewing the mobile phone vision that has been provided so far.

Investigators continue to appeal for information and would like to speak to everyone that attended the event. Anyone that attended but hasn’t yet spoken to police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on

Background: The assault occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning (29/05/2022) at a large ‘bush doof’ event at the Sand Dunes north of the rocks on Cable Beach.

An unknown man has approached the woman striking her to the head several times causing her to fall to the ground where he has sexually assaulted her. He then fled on foot.

He is described as being dark skinned with a slim build and 177cm tall.

The woman was taken to Broome Hospital for treatment of serious head injuries.

One hundred to two hundred people were at the event and detectives are urging anyone who saw the incident or have phone vision of any part of the event to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au
