Inquiries underway after ride-share driver injured in North Kellyville

A ride-share driver remains in hospital after being knocked unconscious allegedly during a confrontation with a passenger in Sydney’s north-west this morning.

Officers from The Hills Police Area Command were called to Nullabor Street at North Kellyville, near Sandbanks Avenue, responding to reports of a fight involving two men shortly after 3.10am (Sunday 18 April 2021).

They found a 37-year-old man unconscious in the street suffering a head injury; police rendered assistance until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and treated the man. He was taken to Westmead Hospital where he’s reported to be in a stable condition.

A short time later, police arrested a 19-year-old man nearby and took him to Castle Hill Police Station. The man, from North Kellyville, is alleged to have been one of three passengers in the vehicle.

Two other passengers, an 18-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, are also speaking with police.

A Toyota Camry sedan and a wrench have been taken for forensic examination.
