Today on International Firefighters Day, we remember and pay our respects to all firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty protecting our homes, our communities, and most importantly our loved ones.
On St Florian’s Day, we also recognise the brave and inspiring service of current and former members of the Tasmanian Fire Service, as well as firefighters around Australia and the world, who have dedicated their lives to serving and protecting others.
Our communities are very grateful for the important role firefighters play in delivering emergency services across our state and keeping Tasmanians safe.
On behalf of the Tasmanian Government, I thank our firefighters for their extraordinary efforts and inspiring sacrifices made each and every day as they serve with courage and conviction to protect and save life.
