  • Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery has today officially opened the International School of WA at its new location in Doubleview.

The $18.65 million school included a major redevelopment of the former Doubleview Primary School facilities to create general classrooms, a library and visual and performing arts rooms.

In addition, a new building with an administration and staffroom as well as science, home economics and IT laboratories was constructed. Also included in the works was landscaping, a hard court and sports hall with change rooms.

The International School of WA caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12, whose families have moved to Perth from overseas for work. The school actively supports the State’s international profile and mining industry.

Offering the International Baccalaureate, the school provides an international education option for children of expatriates, enabling them to continue their learning as their families follow employment opportunities around the world.

The International School of WA is located next to the brand new $15.5 million Doubleview Primary School which officially opened in 2019.

As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:

“I am pleased to officially open the new home of the International School of WA.

“The International School of WA offers a unique education option for families who come to our State for work and ensures that students are able to continue with a high-quality international education here in Perth.

“Students and staff are settling in and enjoying the new location and state-of-the-art facilities here in Doubleview.”
